They became sort of respectful pals, with the wolf seen sitting in the snow staring at him,head to one side in studied curiosity.

This is a two part illustration published in Fur-Fish-Game magazine. A humorous story of two very big bears, in their own right - a black and a grizzly. The black was king of his space at the tree till a giant of a grizzly came upon the scene. He promptly sent the black far up a tree, and raged at him by the trunk, tearing off bark with teeth and claws. The black also raged at the grizzly, making himself sound as tough as possible. The conflict was never truly resolved!
